Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
We Are Care (ABN 46 684 051 474) ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). As a provider of NDIS-funded disability supports, we treat the privacy of the people we support, and everyone who contacts us, with particular care.
What information we collect
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our functions. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
- Your name and contact details (email, phone, suburb);
- General information you provide about your NDIS plan (such as how it is managed and when your review is due) when you use our checklist tool or enquiry form;
- Any information you choose to include in a message to us.
We do not ask you to provide health, medical, or disability diagnosis information through our website. Please do not include sensitive information in website forms. If you become a participant, any sensitive information needed to deliver your supports is collected separately, with your explicit consent, and handled under stricter safeguards.
Why we collect it and how we use it
We use your personal information only for the purpose you provided it, or a related purpose you would reasonably expect, including to:
- Respond to your enquiry and send you information you have requested (such as your checklist);
- Contact you about the supports we provide;
- Send you helpful NDIS tips and updates — but only if you have separately opted in to receive them.
Consent
When you submit a form on our website, you choose what you consent to. We do not use pre-ticked boxes or bundle consents together. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, and every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We use trusted service providers to operate our website and communications (for example, our form and email delivery services), and they may store data on our behalf. Where any provider stores information outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.
How we store and protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, and to destroy or de-identify it when it is no longer needed. If we ever experience a data breach likely to cause serious harm, we will respond in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Accessing, correcting, or deleting your information
You can ask us to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We will respond within a reasonable time. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
Direct marketing
We will only send you marketing communications if you have opted in. Every such message will include a simple way to opt out, and we will action opt-outs promptly, in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
